DTL FontTools

The Dutch Type Library, renowned for its highly exclusive typefaces since 1990, and the Hamburg-based company urw++ Design & Development, pioneers in the ﬁeld of font technology since the early 1970s, jointly develop tools for the professional font production for roughly 20 years. The goal is to make complex and advanced font production as simple as possible without compromising quality.

In 2002 the ﬁrst dtl FontMaster (fm) modules were launched. The built-in batch functionality and the subsetting of the OpenType Layout tables (using afdko-syntaxed features ﬁles), made the fm suite immediately popular among professional font developers. The most recent addition to the suite, dtl OTMaster, has been internationally acknowledged as a unique and extremely powerful OpenType (table) editor.

The Dutch Type Library supports the type (-technology) community by on a regular basis sponsoring events
for example, the yearly ATypI and the former TypoTechnica conferences.
